The First Floating LiDAR System that Passes the OWA Stage 2 Certification for 3 Different LiDAR Models

Blue Aspirations always provides BA-FLS-NX5, the floating LiDAR system, with dual LiDARs by default. Now BA-FLS-NX5 is the world's first wind and metocean measurement system that has reached the Best Practice of OWA Stage 2 for 3 different LiDAR models. The verified LiDAR configurations include both WindCube V2 Offshore and ZX 300M, and dual Molas B300M LiDARs. Blue Aspirations will propose the optimal LiDAR configuration based on different measurement conditions and requirements.

Table 1: The uncertainty calculation at height 180m according to IEC-61400-50-2 and IEC-61400-50-4 from the DNV report

Table 2: The mean standard deviation and correlation coefficient of sensitivity to different EVs from the DNV report

Most noteworthy is that DNV's latest type validation report showcased the uncertainty at all heights for the BA-FLS-NX5 Floating LiDAR System equipped with dual Molas B300M LiDARs is significantly reduced according to the coming standard IEC 61400-50-4 for the floating LiDAR compared that according to IEC 61400-50-2. The maximum reduced rate, shown in Table 1, is 0.63% and the mean reduced rate is 0.27%. According to Table 2, there is no mean standard deviation of the sensitivity value above 0.5 and no correlation coefficient of sensitivity above 0.1. It means that none of the evaluated EVs is significant. All indicate that once the standard IEC 61400-50-4 for the floating LiDAR is implemented, the stability and reliability of BA-FLS-NX5 floating LiDAR system against environmental variables will be better proven.
